You just got engaged, or you due date is approaching or you've just realized it's been quite a while since you've had family photos, whatever the reason I'm always so excited to hear from you! Once I receive that first email we'll go back and forth with any questions we have for one another to make sure we're a great fit. Once we realize we are a good fit we'll move forward with booking your session.

We'll find a specific date and time that works for us both. Sometimes there will be a specific location that is special and we'll meet there or I have a great list of locations I love around Georgetown and the surrounding areas. Once we get those details sorted out, I'll send over a contract, a request for the retainer to hold your date (25% of session total), and then begin excitedly awaiting our session day!

This is where the planning can be a lot of fun. What outfits do you feel most comfortable in? Thinking about getting your nails, hair and make up done? Book those appointments! Whatever makes you really feel fantastic is what really shines in the photos.
I love to talk through outfit ideas and my biggest suggestion is to complement each other, don't match. I love to have a combination of patterns and solids. But most importantly we want YOU to be showcased. I've you've got a special thing to incorporate, let's do it!
prepping for your shoot
You'll show up with your crew and we'll start our session! I have a lot of posing ideas so you don't have to worry about what to do or looking awkward. I'll direct you a bit (or a lot) and all you have to do is smile, laugh and enjoy being with your people (even if they're being ornery).
We'll include any special things to your family you've brought (books, games, instruments...) and my biggest goal is I just want everyone to have a lot of fun. I want there to be a lot of laughter and you to have fun things to chat about while you go out for ice cream after.
your session day
Within 2 weeks from our session date you'll receive an email from me with a link to your gallery! This gallery will be your go-to spot to view, download and order prints of your images. You can share this gallery with family and friends, too!
I'll send one more follow-up e-mail after the gallery to make sure everything looks great. And that's all, folks!

WHAT IS LIFESTYLE PHOTOGRAPHY?
Lifestyle photography takes a less posed approach and aims to capture those genuine moments. I want to capture your real smile and those sweet in between moments. I absolutely include poses and give direction to keep you looking your best.
WHAT SHOULD WE WEAR?
Wear something you feel fantastic in! That confidence really shines when you're feeling your best. If you like getting your hair and nails done - I encourage you to do those things! As far as families coordinating, I love when folks don't match but coordinate - a mix of patterns and solids with complementary colors. Definitely text me with any specific questions!
WHY DON’T YOU RELEASE ALL OF THE PHOTOS YOU TAKE?
I love digital photography. I am able to take so many images. After our session I go through all of my images and choose the best ones edit and share in your final gallery. I only want to share the best with you in your final gallery.
DO YOU EDIT YOUR PHOTOS?
I sure do! I love a brighter, classic edit. Those just always feel joyful to me and it's the style I gravitate towards. I love my black and whites a bit moody and emotional. I tend to always include a mix of color and black and white in the final gallery.
IS STUDIO PHOTOGRAPHY AVAILABLE?
I do not personally own a studio at this time. If one is needed for a specific situation I have rented studios in the past and that is always an option. There may be additional fees if the use of a studio is required for your session.
WHEN WILL I RECEIVE MY PHOTOS?
Within 2 weeks from our session date unless otherwise expressed.
WHAT IF MY KIDS DON'T COOPERATE?
I try my very best to get kids to warm up to me so I can capture those genuine smiles! Sometimes I'll pull kids away to be more one-on-one (still close to caregivers, of course!). As a mom of four kids, I know how frustrating it can be when kids don't cooperate! My advice is to breathe, try to laugh it off and let me take the lead. I have posing ideas that keep kids engaged and interested.
WHAT IF I NEED TO RESCHEDULE MY APPOINTMENT?
Since I am an on-location photographer sometimes I have to reschedule sessions due to rain or weather. I always start to keep an eye the weather the week of our session and will reach out with any concern. If we need to reschedule we will find a secondary date that works for us both.
WHAT IF I NEED TO CANCEL MY APPOINTMENT?
There is a 25% retainer due at time of booking to confirm your date. Should you need to cancel your session without trying to reschedule that retainer is non-refundable as it blocks the date on my calendar and I ensure I will not book other sessions on our agreed upon date.
HOW MANY IMAGES WILL I RECEIVE?
It depends on our session! Typically my galleries are between 50-70 images, sometimes more, sometimes less. But it's important to me to only provide my best work in the final galleries I send out - I'm not striving to hit a specific number.
WHY DO YOU RECOMMEND THAT I PRINT THROUGH YOU?
I edit my images to look a very specific way. Professional labs are best at keeping all of that editing and color adjustments looking true to how I present them to you. The quality is truly unparalleled with a professional lab versus a quick printing situation.
WHAT TIME OF DAY SHOULD WE SCHEDULE THE SHOOT?
I strive to shoot in "golden hour" - that magical time where the light is glowy and lovely that falls within those 2 hours before sunset. If this time just doesn't work for your family or situation, I am always willing to adjust and am familiar with lighting to work at any time of day. For newborns, I strive to schedule those in the later mornings or at a time when the babe tends to be sleepy.
WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE LOCATIONS TO SHOOT?
I love nature. Here in Kentucky we have such lovely scenery with horses and barns and those classic fences. I love water, parks, willow trees... green space will typically be the way I lean when suggestions ideas for our session. With that said though I do also love shooting downtown and having a totally different feel. I love to ask my clients what kind of feel is most "them" and start there!
